Important News for Carrier Greenspeed Owners
As you may have heard by now, Carrier has issued a recall for Greenspeed heat pumps manufactured between 2011 and October 2014 under the Recall number: 25VNA036A0030040.
What is the recall all about?
Here is some information about what parts of the system are causing the recall. In some cases, an electrical component in the inverter of the heat pump systems may overheat, causing an internal plastic cover to melt and/or the external sheet metal surface of the heat pump unit to become hot to the touch.
In some cases, the temperature of a certain area (see below) of the external sheet metal may be high enough to cause burns or ignite flammable material that comes in direct contact. No incidents causing injury or fire have been reported.
What do you need to do?
The solution to the problem and recall is to replace a circuit board supplied to Carrier, which is located in the inverter.
