What is the CroppMetcalfe Academy?
The CroppMetcalfe Academy is an accredited four-year apprenticeship program that offers comprehensive training for plumbing and HVAC training candidates like you.
CroppMetcalfe is one of Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia’s leaders in plumbing, air conditioning and heating, electrical repair, and pest control. Our award-winning company was established in 1979 and has built a solid reputation around the expertise of our 5-star technicians.
We recently moved into the Warrenton, Virginia region and now serve Fauquier and Culpepper Counties. We want to continue cultivating technicians with plumbing and HVAC training who will meet our standards of technical excellence and customer service as our business continues to grow.

Who can enroll for the CroppMetcalfe Academy?
Anyone with a high school diploma or GED is eligible for our plumbing and HVAC training. Students must be 18 years old. There is no drug test or background check required.
You do not need to be a CroppMetcalfe employee to attend the academy. Former CroppMetcalfe employees and academy alumni are welcome to attend the program, as well.
How does the CroppMetcalfe Academy work?
The CroppMetcalfe Academy holds plumbing and HVAC night classes once a week from Monday, Aug. 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in our Fairfax, Virginia location. Occasional sessions may be held in Beltsville, Maryland, depending on the program. Classes continue through the spring.
Academy students are trained both in the classroom and in hands-on lab sessions by master instructors with over 40 years of field experience. We maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio to make sure you get the attention you need.
There will be homework — students will receive required reading and other assignments that will need to be completed before the next class. You will have access to online course materials that allow you to study anywhere.
What do I learn in the CroppMetcalfe Academy programs?
Successful CroppMetcalfe Academy students will be qualified to sit for their Journeyman’s License exam in Virginia following their graduation. The plumbing and HVAC program have separate, four-year tracks, which you can see below:
How much does CroppMetcalfe Academy cost?
The cost for the 2017-2018 school year is $1,865 (HVAC) or $1,690 (Plumbing. A one-time registration fee of $100 is also required. Our students will obtain their Apprentice License and earn several certificates as part of the program.
